Keeping it local this time.
A few years ago my husband I decided to take part in the Great North Ride 2017.
(when I say we decided, I mean to say I decided for him).
The Great North Ride is a 60 mile ride from Seahouses to Tynemouth This is a charity ride to raise funds for the Chris Lucas Trust. By the way if you want to take part in this years ride click here.
The route winds its way through lots of little towns and villages such as Walkworth & Amble and is such a nice ride.
We decided to do it as a two-parter and have a weekend away and a micro-adventure.
Day 2
We decided to do it as a two-parter and have a weekend away and a micro-adventure.
Day 1
Quick selfie following us stocking up on a few bits and bobs for the next couple of days ahead.
Started in the afternoon at the car park in Seahouses.
Just been dropped off by Paul's dad in the car. We are looking very upbeat and optimistic, before we had put any effort in obviously.
Approaching Longhoughton
Looking like two gargoyles at the front of a castle, after the climb into Warkworth!
Just past Walkworth I believe and heading for Amble.k
Somewhere along the coast (just can't place it)
Paul showing off at the front.
Arrived at the campsite

Day 2
Looking like another cracking day -weather wise!
Nice off road cycle paths past Woodhorn towards North Seaton.
Crossing the Wansbeck once we'd passed Washington
Loving the Minions made out of old gas canisters outside of someones house in Cambois.

Made it as far as the Coastline Chippy, South Beach, Blyth.
The rest of the journey from Blyth
to Tynemouth is local to us and so we know the terrain and distance,
plus we were glad to get out of our saddles.
As well as it being a cracking chippy they also do a fantastic range of Ciccarelli Artisan Gelatos, with flavours such as Turkish Delight, Bubble Gum and Ferrero Rocher. All made on the premises.
Loved having this micro adventure and touring somewhere more close to home.
The other tours we have undertaken have been much further away from home and unfamiliar, so this was different but still interesting.

We plan to continue upload more of our adventures so keep checking back.
